The UITP Summit 2026, which was scheduled to take place in Dubai from April 21 to 23, has been cancelled due to the political situation in the region. SI was informed of the decision today as a media partner.

“As an organisation that always puts People First, the safety and wellbeing of our delegates, partners, and colleagues is our main responsibility. With many national authorities recommending to avoid non-essential travel to the region, the decision to cancel the 2026 edition has come after careful consideration by UITP’s Executive Board,” UITP said in a statement.

The UITP emphasized its strong and long-standing relationship with the 2026 host, RTA Dubai, which invested tremendous energy, effort, and enthusiasm into preparing the Summit.

UITP also thanked its partner for their understanding, continued support, and the considerable work undertaken in preparation for what would have been an outstanding event.

The next congress for public transport is scheduled to take place in Hamburg, Germany, in 2027.
