Mexico City: Third ropeway line for the capital
Six stations in total, four of which in the popular Chapultepec Forest, will enable passengers to board and alight along the line.
From December 2023, residents and tourists alike will benefit from this mobility solution. Doppelmayr was also responsible for the first Cablebús line in Mexico City, which was completed in 2021.

With the Cablebús ropeway network, Mexico City’s decisionmakers are aiming for increased mobility in public transport as well as enhanced attractiveness for tourism.
Preparations for the construction of Line 3 already got underway at the end of September.
According to Mexico City’s Secretary for Public Works and Services, Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, the population in the “Santa Fe” area stands to benefit most from the installation.
It will also provide a link to the “Tren Interurbano” railway, which is currently under construction, and to metro station “Metro Constituyentes”. The completion of Line 3 is scheduled for December 2023.

The ropeway
Detachable gondola lifts belonging to the D-Line ropeway generation are again being used for this seminal transport project in Mexico’s capital.
The 5.42-kilometre route, which incorporates six stations, 37 towers and 71 OMEGA V cabins, will be covered in roughly 21 minutes at a travel speed of 6m/s.
Each of the 71 cabins comes with ten seats and provides ample room for ten passengers plus on-board Wi-Fi. Around 12 million passengers per year are expected to benefit from the new link, once it is completed.

of 5.42 kilometres will be covered in approximately 21 minutes, with six stations, 37 supports and 71 Omega V gondolas, at a travel speed of 6 m/s. The new system will be installed in the first station.
