The news was <a href=\"https:\/\/folhadolitoral.com.br\/en\/editorias\/turismo\/com-tratativas-iniciadas-para-a-implantacao-matinhos-devera-ganhar-novo-teleferico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> by the news portal Folha do Litoral News.<\/p>\n<p>The facility, which could become another landmark for the city and the coastal region, is planned for Morro do Escalvado.<\/p>\n<p>The site is located within the Saint-Hilaire\/Lange National Park, a protected area of Atlantic rainforest managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (Instituto Chico Mendes de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Biodiversidade, ICMBio).<\/p>\n<p>The municipal government of Matinhos announced the project and has focused on close cooperation with the environmental authority since the planning phase began.<\/p>\n<\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-builder-row .fusion-layout-column.gradient-column-2 .fusion-column-wrapper:before {content: \"\"; The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) is also involved. This cooperation is intended to guarantee the protection of the local ecosystem.<\/p>\n<h3>Matinhos already had a cable car<\/h3>\n<p>Until the early 1990s, Matinhos already had a cable car.
