The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>The project is being implemented by Leitner, the Alto Adige-based ropeway manufacturer, in collaboration with Misconel, a construction and infrastructure company based in Trentino.<\/p>\n<\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-builder-row .fusion-layout-column.gradient-column-2 .fusion-column-wrapper:before {content: \"\"; The journey between the two stations will take around 86 seconds at a speed of 2.5 meters per second.<\/p>\n<p>Under normal operating conditions, the system is planned to have a capacity of 537 passengers per hour in each direction. In the future the inclined elevator will provide a fast and direct link to the higher university campus, making it much easier to access for students, staff and visitors.<\/p>\n<h3>Fully automatic operation<\/h3>\n<p>The system is equipped with control units at both stations and is designed for fully automatic operation. Additional controls are installed both in the cabin and in the loading and unloading areas.<\/p>\n<p>A control center monitored by an employee will also be set up at the bottom station.<\/p>\n<p>The project reached an important milestone back in July: the cabin moved along the track for the first time during the initial performance tests.<\/p>\n<h3>New connection for pedestrians and cyclists<\/h3>\n<p>As well as the inclined elevator, a new bike and footpath is being constructed between the top station and Via Mesiano.<\/p>\n<p>The path, which will be around 300 meters in length and four meters in width, will run below the University Library and the Engineering Campus, and complement the new system by providing an additional link, ensuring sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n<p>The total budget for the project is approximately 6.5 million euros.<\/p>\n<\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-builder-row .fusion-layout-column.gradient-column-6 .fusion-column-wrapper:before {content: \"\"; position: absolute; width: 100%; height: 100%; top: 0; left: 0;z-index:-1;background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, right top, from(), to())!important;background: -webkit-linear-gradient(0deg, , )!important;background: -moz-linear-gradient(0deg, , )!important;background: -ms-linear-gradient(0deg, , )!important;background: -o-linear-gradient(0deg, , )!important;}<\/style><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new inclined elevator between Trento and the Mesiano university campus in Italy is entering the final stage of the project.
