To facilitate this step, the 1961 Allocation of Business was amended.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the ministry will be responsible for development of the technology for cable cars and alternative mobility solutions as well as for construction, research and policy in this area. The remit will also include the formulation of an institutional, financial and regulatory framework for the technology.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Transport Sh. Nitin Gadkari welcomes this change and has said that it represents a major contribution to the development of sustainable, alternative transport systems in the country.
