Although State Route 92 lies only ten kilometres between Interstate 280 and Highway 1, the journey can take up to two hours.<\/p>\n<p>This corridor is the only connection between the eastern and western side of the Coastal Range, and it therefore represents a very important link. If damaged, for example by an earthquake, landslides or erosion could make the road impassable.<\/p>\n<p>The coastal communities would then be isolated until it were repaired. It is now hoped that a cable car will create an additional transport route. In an emergency, the gondolas could be used to evacuate the people who would otherwise be trapped.<\/p>\n<p>This very clearly demonstrates the numerous different applications of a cable car.<\/p>\n<\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-builder-row .fusion-layout-column.gradient-column-2 .fusion-column-wrapper:before {content: \"\"; Moreover, it would be easy for sports enthusiasts to transport their equipment, such as bikes and surfboards.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the plan includes free WiFi during the journey. There is still a long way to go before implementation of the cable car project.
