Photo: ZAUGG<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"teaser text full\">\n<p>The new Stoosbahn, the world\u2019s steepest funicular railway, has been operating on Switzerland\u2019s Stoos mountain since December 2017. To keep the tracks free of snow, staff initially cleared the line by hand with shovels \u2013 as they had on the previous railway.<\/p>\n<p>However, the desire for contemporary, safe, fast and mechanical track clearance quickly emerged \u2013 which is easier said than done. \u201cA plough can easily clear snow in front of the vehicle. After production, we conducted in-house training for the operating personnel, before installing the blower,\u201d says ZAUGG company spokesperson Rolf Egli.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the close cooperation and detailed concept, the actual commissioning took only one day. We can also see how the individual vehicles are controlled. Consequently, we can detect any initial faults,\u201d the Deputy Technical Director is pleased to report.<\/p>\n<p>WLAN or LTE radios are used for communication. \u201cNot least, comfort in the cab is very good.
