The topic of urban cable cars was represented both by delegations from various countries and by manufacturers.<\/p>\n<h3>Germany: Still on the way to urban cable cars<\/h3>\n<p>The session titled &#8220;Cable Cars: A Realistic Solution for Urban Transport?&#8221; was opened by <strong>Dominik Berndt<\/strong>, CEO of Cable Car World GmbH. He began with a candid question: Why is it so difficult to bring cable cars into cities in Europe \u2013 and especially in Germany? According to Berndt, there are several reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No standardized planning process \u2013 everyone is still a pioneer.<\/li>\n<li>A complex landscape of interests \u2013 unclear rules and possibilities.<\/li>\n<li>Uncertain integration into public transport systems \u2013 especially in models with private operators.<\/li>\n<li>High expectations meet limited experience \u2013 momentum is at risk due to the lack of know-how.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-builder-row .fusion-layout-column.gradient-column-2 .fusion-column-wrapper:before {content: \"\"; It was designed to provide access to hard-to-reach informal settlements located on the city&#8217;s steep hillsides. Between 2004 and 2021, six lines were put into operation, and today, they are used daily by thousands of people.<\/p>\n<\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-builder-row tourist cable cars.
