The approximately 4.5-kilometer-long cable car line with five stations extends Metro Line 8 and thus improves the connection of the southern suburbs of Paris to the \u00cele-de-France transport network.<\/p>\n<p>Already in January, the President of the \u00cele-de-France region, <strong>Val\u00e9rie P\u00e9cresse<\/strong>, expressed her desire for a second cable car, according to the portal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sortiraparis.com\/de\/nachricht\/in-paris\/articles\/339995-verkehr-in-ile-de-france-ein-zweiter-seilbahnabschnitt-soll-bald-zwischen-velizy-und-pont-de-sevres-entstehen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sortir \u00e0 Paris<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We allow ourselves to dream of the V\u00e9lizy\u2013Pont-de-S\u00e8vres cable, which could save a trip on the N118,&#8221; she said on January 14 in her New Year\u2019s address to \u00cele-de-France Mobilit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And although it is still only an idea, <a href=\"https:\/\/france3-regions.franceinfo.fr\/paris-ile-de-france\/yvelines\/un-telepherique-pour-relier-velizy-a-boulogne-en-14-minutes-ce-projet-a-t-il-des-chances-d-etre-retenu-3265097.html?utm_term=Autofeed&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1765526411\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">France 3 Paris \u2013 \u00cele-de-France<\/a> reports that studies on this project could be resumed. The mayor is convinced that the cable car could also help relieve congestion on the RN118 highway.<\/p>\n<p>While the project seems to find some support among certain users, the French Federation of Passenger Associations doubts its usefulness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For years, a bus has been running between Pont de S\u00e8vres and the V\u00e9lizy-Meudon business park, taking less than 15 minutes outside of peak hours.
