Partition element devised

New development provides greater protection from infection and higher transport capacity in cable cars.

Spatial separation in cable cars can significantly reduce the risk of infection – with potentially greater occupancy and transport capacity.
This is why Peter Dablander and Andreas Haggenmüller from Hopfgarten recently invented a gondola partition, tested it on the local mountain railway and filed a patent application for it.

The “partition element” is designed as a flexible plastic film, which is fixed to the roof like a curtain and divides the gondola into two halves. The partition can be stretched taut with one “pull” from outside.

Installation of the simple design is quick and cost-effective and can be undertaken by mountain railway operators themselves. The transparency of the film avoids the impression of being cramped; the space is not restricted.

Production of the partition element will now be undertaken by a gondola manufacturer.
