Leadership change at UITP: New president & vice president
The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) announced several personnel changes in November: the organization now has a new president and a new vice president.
Renée Amilcar Steps Down as UITP President
After two and a half years in office, Renée Amilcar is stepping down as president of UITP. Due to her new role as CEO and President of Mobilité Infra Québec, she is resigning early to fully focus on her position in Québec.
First elected president at the UITP Summit 2023, she was re-elected at the last General Assembly in June 2025 in Hamburg with an overwhelming majority of 100 percent of the votes.
With her resignation, Amilcar leaves a strong legacy: she was the first female president in the association’s history and had a major impact on UITP during her tenure.
Renée Amilcar was president of UITP since 2023.

Gautier Brodeo takes office
Since 21 November 2025, Gautier Brodeo has assumed the position of President of UITP. As director of the Operation and Maintenance Development Agency at the RATP Group, he brings more than 25 years of experience in public transport.
Gautier Brodeo has held roles as a metro line manager, senior adviser, and most recently as director of the Operation and Maintenance Development Agency.
Within UITP, he has served as vice president, chair of the Metro Division, and member of the Executive Board. Over ten years ago, he began as an expert in urban and suburban railways and later became chair of the Regional and Suburban Rail Committee.
