Muttrah (Oman): Cable car project in the “Switzerland of the middle east”

In Muttrah, a historic port city near Oman‘s capital Muscat, two new cable car lines by BARTHOLET are currently under construction. The ambitious project aims to boost Oman‘s tourism sector and revitalize the region. For the Swiss manufacturer, this is the first installation carried out in collaboration with the operator Sabeen Investment.

Muttrah is known for its distinctive forts, bustling market, numerous museums, and the Al Alam Palace, the Sultan’s residence.

The new cable car will add a whole new dimension to the city’s skyline – visitors will be able to experience Muttrah from new perspectives.

Rising above the city, passengers will enjoy impressive panoramic views of the waterfront promenade and the breathtaking landscapes of the Gulf of Oman.
