Harbor Cable Car in Baltimore?

The Harbor Places in Baltimore (USA) are to be redesigned. In the presentation, among other things, a cable car is also brought into consideration. In doing so, the project developer revives an old idea that had already garnered 46 percent approval at the time.

The cable car could potentially provide a connection between neighborhoods separated by the river, offering advantages. However, the specific details of this cable car plan were not further elaborated.

In the renderings, two supports in the water are visible. Possible stations could be located along the route at the Harbor Connector Dock in Federal Hill and the intersection of East Falls Avenue and Aliceanna Street in Harbor East.

A previous survey conducted by Trey and Peter Winstead, who are interested in implementing a cable car, revealed that 46 percent of respondents supported the project.

However, after the survey, the political pursuit of the cable car did not progress. With its inclusion in the presentation for Harbor Place, the cable car concept is once again being discussed. The Winsteads express significant interest in constructing it and hope for approval.
