The journey from the idea to a completed cable car is long and includes many stations. That is why cable car experts from Germany, Austria and South Tyrol have decide to build the ROPEWAY PROJECT GROUP. Due to the involfment of a broad expertise area, urban cable car projects can be handled in part or from one source. This is proved by projects in Duisburg, Cottbus, Klausen and Nainital.

Cable car in London gets new operator
FirstGroup plc announced at a press conference that the company has been awarded the contract to operate the IFS Cloud London Cable Car by Transport for London (TfL).
Cable Car World 2024 at Messe Essen
On June 4 and 5, 2024, Cable Car World will showcase the concentrated expertise around the topic of urban cable cars. In Hall 8 of Messe Essen, around 50 exhibitors, participants in the Mobility Lab, City Lab and Science Wall as well as experts from ten countries will present their innovative products and services.
Cable Car for Los Angeles?
In Los Angeles, a private investor (La Art) is planning a cable car between Union Station in Downtown and the Dodger Stadium. The project is currently awaiting the results of a transport study.
Biel/Bienne: Pioneer through a cable car?
Urban cable cars open up new perspectives and relieve traffic – that‘s also the vision for the city of Biel/Bienne (Switzerland). It is intended to relieve the city center, connect the lake and the city, and create meeting spaces.
A cable car for the temple
To enhance religious tourism in the city, the Mata Chintpuri Temple is set to be connected with a cable car. The 1.1-kilometer-long cable car aims to simplify access to the temple and strengthen the existing infrastructure.
Urban cable car for Genoa
The port city of Genoa, Italy, is planning the construction of a cable car. The project is designed with a route of approximately 2.2 kilometers and three stations.
New Zealand: Ten urban cable cars proposed
Together with transport planner Abley, cable car manufacturer DOPPELMAYR New Zealand has conducted strategic analyses for cable cars. Out of 20 possible cable car variants, ten lines have been identified as preferred to pursue.
Ticket sales start for Cable Car World 2024
Trade visitors can now secure their tickets for one of Messe Essen's most innovative event formats: The congress fair on 4 and 5 June will focus on urban mobility with cable cars. An overview of the tickets.
Crossing border by cable car
The border crossings between Detroit in the USA and Windsor in Canada are the busiest in North America. More than 40,000 commuters and tourists cross the Ambassador Bridge, with 25 percent of the trade between both countries passing through it. Similarly, the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, with over 13,000 vehicles per day, is also considered overwhelmed. Hence, an urban cable car is now under discussion.

Cable Car World is the world's first trade fair to focus on urban cable cars as an equally important component of new urban mobility and will be accompanied by an integrated specialist congress.
