Kässbohrer initiates collaboration
Development of Snowsat Analytics
KÄSSBOHRER enters into a promising collaboration with Swiss companies, aiming at developing a new product under the name “SNOWsat Analytics”.
KÄSSBOHRER Geländefahrzeug AG would like to support ski regions in the process of digitalization. The company has recently entered into important and promising cooperation to this effect with companies from Switzerland. The partners in this collaboration should develop a product together which will, simply put, manage the ski resorts’ flood of information and data and provide a true competitive advantage.
This project is a milestone in the digitalization of ski resort management, a process that is moving forward with increasing speed. Each individual ski region uses digital information from various information sources, for example ticket data, data related to guests, skiers, and lifts, information on weather, energy, snowmaking, GIS data, safety technology data, gastronomical information, snow depth measurements, vehicle data from ski slopes and fleet management, and much more. Before this project, no centralized management of such data was available.
KÄSSBOHRER brings to the collaboration its know-how in the field of ski slope and fleet management, as well as snow depth measuring for ski slope vehicles.
Aim of the collaboration
The aim of the collaboration is to develop a product, SNOWsat Analytics, that will interlink, utilize and combine such diverse information from various data sources in the relevant ski region. The resulting information and applications will then become the basis for further decisions and actions in the framework of the ski region’s management. Metaphorically speaking, such decisions will be made as part of “Cockpit Resort Management”.
Further use of such processed data represents a huge competitive advantage for the ski regions and can extraordinarily increase their efficiency. The use of ski region resources such as energy, snow, lift capacity or even marketing campaigns can be customized and optimized. And what matters most: all this will ultimately benefit the guests who will be able to enjoy winter sports as a more comfortable, individual-oriented and richer experience.
KÄSSBOHRER has entered into this cooperation project with three companies from Switzerland: Geocloud AG/Schlieren, Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG/ Laax and Grünenfelder und Partner AG, Domat/ Ems. Geocloud AG is a leading GIS (geographic information system) company. Its main business are ICT (information and communications technology) basic services and geoservices.
Geocloud AG contributes development services and hosting to the project. Weisse Arena Bergbahnen AG, an innovative ski region with fantastic infrastructure, defines demand for digitalization from the customer- and guest’s point of view. And Grünfelder und Partner AG, as a company of engineers, surveyors and planners, can contribute its rich experience in the area of surveying and GIS.
SNOWsat is KÄSSBOHRER’s product line for ski slope and fleet management, including snow depth measurements for ski slope vehicles. The company brings its know-how from this field into the cooperation project. Its task is to ensure that customers’ requirements are also taken into account during the development of the product. In addition, Kässbohrer will market all the products and services resulting from the cooperation through its existing global distribution and service organization and will thus become the first provider worldwide to offer this management product to ski regions. ts
