7.5 million euro for the new station

After the renovation of the old SchafbergBahn route began in 2018, further new investments will be made around Austria's steepest cogwheel railway from spring 2020.

The new building and the redesign of the station are intended to significantly improve the quality of experience for the guests on site and also to extend the length of stay.

With the new construction of the station of the SchafbergBahn, Salzburg AG is investing around 7.5 million euro in its tourism division.

As part of a Europe-wide architecture competition, 54 exciting projects from all over Europe were submitted. These projects have been open to the public for two weeks at the St. Wolfgang Schafbergbahn jetty on the MS Salzburg since January 15, 2020.

The winning project of the Salzburg architect's office "dark black ZT OG" was presented personally by the architects during an event.
