FRANCE: New cable car for Les Trois Vallées

Les Trois Vallées is one of the largest ski resorts in France. It has over 600 kilometres of slopes and is now being expanded further

The 10-person “Pointe de la Masse” gondola lift is being constructed by LEITNER and is the first LEITNER installation in France with a speed of seven metres per second.

The journey time will be around eight minutes and the system will transport 2,800 passengers per hour. In the past, access to the area was via three separate cable cars. These are now being replaced, so that the journey will be easier both for skiers and for the ski resort.

At 2,804 metres, the top station will include a viewing terrace that offers panoramic views from the top of the station. Station users will be amazed not only by the views but also be the cable cars themselves: five of the gondolas will be feature a glass floor and panoramic windows, so that there is nothing to stop visitors enjoying the views. This cable car line will correspond perfectly with the ski resort motto, from three to one, and the project will revitalise La Masse.
