Gold Rush in Finland: Ski Resort Hides €20,000 Treasure
The Finnish ski resort Levi launched an extraordinary summer campaign for its guests: they are invited to hunt for a hidden gold treasure worth €20,000 under the arctic midnight sun.
The “Midnight Sun Hunt”
The so-called “Midnight Sun Hunt” started on June 18, 2026, and will run until the end of August 2026. Guided by a series of clues, it takes participants through Levi’s scenic landscape.
The treasure hunt challenges participants to solve riddles and follow trails that gradually reveal the exact location of a hidden gold bar.
Although the prize could theoretically be found after the very first clue, each new tip released throughout the summer makes it easier to pinpoint the hiding place.
The hunt was specifically designed to encourage exploration of the region while showcasing the unique character of the arctic summer.
The Magic of the Arctic Summer
The treasure hunt is not the only reason a trip is worthwhile. North of the Arctic Circle, the midnight sun bathes the landscape in a golden light around the clock. It literally does not get dark.
“Levi is best known for its winter, but the Nordic summer is still undiscovered by many. We want to give travelers a new reason to visit Levi when the sun never sets and the fell landscape shows a completely different side of itself,” says Satu Pesonen, CEO of Visit Levi.
