Thomas Maierhofer is the new CEO of Gleterschbahnen Kaprun

On 31 July, Norbert Karlsböck terminated his mandate as sole board member of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG at his own request after the expiry of his term of office in order to retire at the end of September. Thomas Maierhofer will take over the position as CEO on 1 August.

Thomas Maierhofer studied business administration and business education. Before joining Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG, he worked for eleven years at the Raiffeisenverband Salzburg as a commercial customer consultant with a focus on the cable car industry.

For the last six years, he has played a key role in the management of the AG as a commercial authorised signatory.

At the beginning of 2023, the supervisory board unanimously elected Maierhofer as Karlsböck’s designated successor.

Maierhofer looks to the future with confidence: “I see being able to work on and with the Kitzsteinhorn as a special privilege and great responsibility. Its snow-sure altitude and varied natural landscape allow us to provide guests with a varied range of sports and adventure activities all year round. As long as we continue to move conscientiously and conserve resources in this extraordinary natural area, we will continue to succeed.”

Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG operates the Kitzsteinhorn – Maiskogel ski and adventure area and the Lechnerberg beginners’ ski area in the centre of Kaprun, with nine catering establishments and numerous excursion destinations open all year round.
