SWITZERLAND: Destination LAAX got through the pandemic digitally

These are challenging times, but anyone who is faces them proactively rather than shying away from them can grow as a result. This has also been demonstrated by Swiss destination LAAX: with a new, digital app from Pricenow, which predicts visitor numbers, and by switching ticket sales to online-only, the ski resort was able to tackle the challenges of the last winter season early on and to offer its guests a safe mountain experience.

The so-called Business Intelligence Application analyses and displays all ticket sales in Laax. It therefore provides a data-based decision-making tool, which also
allows capacity management in the winter sports resort.

In real time, it is therefore possible to see how many people have a valid lift ticket for a certain day – including multi- day tickets – as well as the number of half-
day and day tickets that can still be released for sale. It also provides information on how guest booking behaviour is changing in view of the current external conditions.

On busy days, this data basis makes it easier to decide on limitations as well as allowing optimisation of resources.
