AIDAstella will undergo a minor height reduction due to the reconstruction of a cable car system in Singapore, the cruise line announced on its website.

According to Captain Daniel Richter, the ship’s overall height will be reduced by approximately one metre.

The modification is required because the cable car linking mainland Singapore with Sentosa Island, which crosses part of the harbour, is being upgraded. As a result, the maximum clearance will be lowered from 50.8 metres to 50.0 metres.

To ensure that AIDAstella can continue calling at Singapore, the ship’s tallest masts will need to be shortened or modified accordingly. The cruise line has not yet announced when or where the work will take place.

No shipyard stay is currently scheduled. However, given the relatively minor nature of the modification, the work is expected to be carried out while the vessel remains in service.

This summer, AIDAstella is operating a series of cruises in the Mediterranean. For the 2026/27 winter season, the ship will be redeployed to Asia, where it is scheduled to sail itineraries across Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Japan.
