Settlement project in Switzerland checks 3rd level

Some possibilities for a suitable mobility concept between Zuchwil (CH) and Solothurn main station (CH) were already being examined. But the suitable one was not there yet. But that is now a thing of the past. The solution is in the air.

As reported by soaktuell.ch, a number of projects are expected to significantly revitalize the area to the east of the city of Solothurn over the next few years. An increase in traffic is already noticeable. Relief for local traffic could be provided in the future by the Aare gondola.

“A cable car can transport much more than skiers. As part of the public transport network, it can do great things – efficiently, unobtrusively and impressively. In the process, it compares favorably with other parts of the transportation infrastructure in terms of cost. The time is ripe to fully realize its potential.” This is the conviction of the initiator Reto Paul Grimm, designer as well as area and real estate project developer from Solothurn.

Although a cable car would be perfect for overcoming the obstacles on site, Grimm expects resistance and has therefore founded the IG Aaregondel. A broad-based feasibility study is now to examine whether overcoming the expected resistance is possible and whether further planning makes sense.
